The story of Adonis and Aphrodite

Aphrodite the goddess of love and beauty, found herself in love with Adonis, god of plants and rebirth. This enraged Aphrodite's past lover, Ares, the god of war and courage. Ares found it upon himself to punish the couple for their love.

Ares transformed himself into a wild boar and hunted and attacked Adonis, mortally wounded him. Aphrodite heard Adonis's cry of pain. In her rush to help him, she cut herself on a briar bush. While she held her dying lover in her arms, their blood mixed and fell upon white quartz on the ground, staining it pink. Zeus saw the heartbroken Aphrodite, and took pity. He allowed Adonis to return to Aphrodite for 6 months every year.

Eros (also known as Cupid), the god of love and desire, then gifted the stained stone to humanity as a symbol of love and reconciliation.

Rose Quartz is now considered the stone of unconditional love, It is said to increase self-love, friendship, healing, and inner peace.
